
Spiced Braised Beef with Vegetables (Pressure Cooker) Recipe
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes on high pressure
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 small onion, peeled and sliced
- 750 grams braising steak, sliced 2 cm thick and cut into 4
portions
- 50 grams mushrooms, sliced
- 400 grams can tomatoes, chopped, with their juice
- 4 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon demerara sugar
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 5 teaspoon ground allspice
- salt
- freshly ground black pepper
- 450 grams potatoes, peeled and cut into 25 grams pieces
- 350 grams frozen peas or green beans
- 1 dessertspoon cornflour
- 1 tablespoon water
Directions:
- In an open cooker, heat the oil adding the onion and fry until
light brown.
- Add the steak and brown on all sides. Remove the steak and
onions from the cooker and drain the excess oil.
- Put the mushrooms, tomatoes, water, sugar, mustard, allspice and
salt and pepper all together in the cooker and stir well.
- Place the pieces of steak and onions on top.
- Cook on a closed cooker for 11 minutes on High. Minimize the
pressure immediately.
- Remove the vegetables and meat from the cooker, set them aside
keeping them warm.
- Mix in the cornflour and water, add it into the sauce and bring
to boil.
- Serve the vegetables and meat separately with the sauce.
